Collagen Stimulators treatment at Skin&Co, Mississauga

Collagen Stimulators
in Mississauga

Radiesse and Sculptra work by prompting your own collagen rather than adding volume directly. The change is gradual, structural, and almost impossible to spot as treatment.

Collagen Stimulators results at Skin&Co, Mississauga

Nobody notices collagen stimulators, which is the entire point. The change arrives slowly enough that people assume you have been sleeping better.

Radiesse and Sculptra in Mississauga

Collagen stimulators are not fillers in the usual sense. Rather than sitting in the tissue to create volume, they prompt the skin to build its own collagen over the following months. The result builds slowly, peaks around three months, and lasts considerably longer than hyaluronic acid.

That slow build is why they suit some people and not others. If you want a change for an event in three weeks, this is the wrong treatment and we will say so. If you want structural improvement nobody can date, it is often the right one.

What it treats

What collagen stimulators
treat well.

And a few things they do not. If your concern is not here, the consultation is where we work out what would actually help.

Concerns treated by collagen stimulators in MississaugaInjectables and Fillers
  1. Overall facial support

Broad loss of structure across the midface, treated as a whole rather than area by area.

  2. Skin quality and thickness

Thin, crepey skin that no amount of filler will improve, because the problem is the skin itself.

  3. Jawline definition

Building support along the jaw over a course, rather than outlining it with gel.

  4. Neck and décolletage

Areas where traditional filler is rarely appropriate but collagen loss is obvious.

  5. Hands

Restoring the padding on the back of the hand, where the result is gradual and looks natural.

S&C

How it works

How collagen stimulators work
at Skin&Co.

Four steps, in this order. Nothing is treated until it has been assessed, and nothing is repeated until it has been reviewed.

Collagen Stimulators in Mississauga, step 1: assessment

Assessment

We establish whether your concern is volume, structure or skin quality. Collagen stimulators answer the last two. If it is the first, filler is the better tool and we will recommend that instead.

Results

Collagen Stimulators results,
and when to expect them.

The Skin&Co treatment room in Mississauga
Slow by design.Change that arrives over months is change nobody can date.
Day 0

Treatment day

Mild swelling and occasional bruising. You may look slightly fuller for a day or two from the carrier fluid, which is not the result.

Week 2

Back to baseline

The initial fullness has gone. This is expected and does not mean the treatment failed. Collagen has not been built yet.

Week 6 to 12

The build

New collagen forms and the change becomes visible. This is when the treatment starts to show, and when the second session usually happens.

Month 12 to 24

Full duration

Results hold considerably longer than hyaluronic acid. Maintenance is typically a single session rather than a full course.

When we say no

When we decline
collagen stimulators.

We do not treat in these situations, and we will say so in the consultation, which you are not charged for.

  • Anyone wanting a visible result quickly. This treatment cannot do that and pretending otherwise wastes your money.
  • A concern that is genuinely about volume in one specific area. Filler does that better.
  • Skin with active inflammatory conditions, until they are settled.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • A history of keloid or unusual scarring, which we will discuss carefully first.
  • Anyone unwilling to commit to the full course. A single session of a three session course is money spent for very little.

Questions

Collagen Stimulators
questions, answered.

The Skin&Co consultation room in Mississauga
How are collagen stimulators different from filler?

Filler adds volume directly and you see it immediately. Collagen stimulators prompt your own tissue to rebuild, so the change takes six to twelve weeks and looks like your own face improving rather than something added.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually two or three, spaced four to six weeks apart. We plan the whole course before starting so there are no surprises partway through.

Can collagen stimulators be dissolved?

No, and that is the trade off for the longer duration. It is a reason we assess more carefully before using them than we do before using hyaluronic acid.

Is Sculptra or Radiesse better?

They behave differently. Radiesse gives some immediate structure as well as building collagen. Sculptra is purely gradual. The choice depends on the area and on how much patience you have.

What is the downtime?

A day or two of mild swelling. Most people work the same day. Massage after treatment matters and we will show you exactly how.

How long until I see anything?

Six weeks before most people notice, twelve weeks for the full effect. If that timeline does not suit your plans, tell us and we will suggest something else.
