A peel is a prescription, not a product. The depth, the acid and the strength should be chosen for your skin after someone has looked at it.
A chemical peel uses a controlled acid application to remove the outer layers of skin in a measured way, prompting the skin to regenerate. Depth is everything: a superficial peel brightens with no downtime, a medium peel changes pigment and texture with a week of peeling, and the two suit entirely different people.
Because this is a dermatology practice, peels here are selected the way a medication would be. Which acid, at what strength, for which skin type, alongside what else you are using. Some skin needs preparing for weeks first, and we will not skip that step to fit a schedule.

Skin and ResurfacingSun damage, post inflammatory marks and general unevenness, which respond well over a course.
Treated cautiously and with the right agents, since the wrong peel makes melasma worse.
Salicylic based peels clear congestion and reduce breakouts, often alongside prescription treatment.
The flat brown or red marks left behind after breakouts heal.
The most common request and the easiest to satisfy, usually with a light course.
Improved by medium depth peels, though resurfacing does more if lines are the main concern.
How it works
Four steps, in this order. Nothing is treated until it has been assessed, and nothing is repeated until it has been reviewed.
A physician or medical aesthetician assesses your skin type, pigment risk and what you are already using. Retinoids and some medications change what is safe.
Results
Redness and tightness, like mild sunburn. Superficial peels leave you presentable immediately. Medium peels do not.
Flaking begins, heaviest around day three. Do not pull at it. Skin underneath is new and sun sensitive.
Peeling completes. Brightness and evenness are visible. Strict sun protection remains essential.
Light peels repeat every two to four weeks as a course. Medium peels are assessed at four weeks.

Questions
It depends on the depth. Superficial peels often produce very little visible flaking. Medium peels produce several days of obvious peeling. We tell you which you are having before you book.
Light peels work as a course of three to six, two to four weeks apart. Medium peels are usually one treatment with a longer recovery.
Yes, with the right agent, the right depth and proper preparation. The wrong peel on skin prone to pigment change causes exactly the problem you came to fix.
Sometimes, with specific agents and great care. Melasma is easily worsened and needs a considered plan rather than a standard peel.
Tingling, warmth and some stinging during application, lasting minutes. Deeper peels are more intense and we talk you through it.
After a superficial peel, usually the next day. After a medium peel, not until peeling has finished, typically around a week.
