CO2 Laser Resurfacing results at Skin&Co, Mississauga

This is the one treatment here where the honest answer is: it works, and it will cost you a week. Plan it properly or do not do it.

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing in Mississauga

Fractional CO2 laser removes microscopic columns of damaged skin and leaves the tissue between them intact. That intact tissue drives rapid healing while the treated columns are replaced with new collagen. It is the most effective non surgical treatment available for texture, acne scarring and deep lines.

It also has the most downtime of anything on this list, and it carries real risk in the wrong hands or on the wrong skin. It is performed here inside a dermatology practice, by a physician, with settings chosen for your skin type and a proper conversation about what the week afterwards actually looks like.

What it treats

What co2 laser resurfacing
treat well.

And a few things they do not. If your concern is not here, the consultation is where we work out what would actually help.

Concerns treated by co2 laser resurfacing in MississaugaLaser and Energy
  1. Acne scarring

The single best indication. Nothing else non surgical changes textured scarring to the same degree.

  2. Deep lines

Particularly around the mouth, where movement lines become etched and injectables cannot reach them.

  3. Sun damage and texture

Years of accumulated change, treated in one pass rather than a long course.

  4. Enlarged pores

Improved, though never eliminated, and we are clear about that distinction.

  5. Surgical or traumatic scars

    Often improvable, assessed individually.

S&C

How it works

How co2 laser resurfacing work
at Skin&Co.

Four steps, in this order. Nothing is treated until it has been assessed, and nothing is repeated until it has been reviewed.

Consultation and skin typing

A physician assesses your skin type, scarring pattern and pigment risk. This treatment is not offered to every skin type at every setting, and we explain why.

Results

CO2 Laser Resurfacing results,
and when to expect them.

The Skin&Co treatment room in Mississauga
The one with real downtime.A week that buys a change nothing else can make.
Day 0 to 3

Raw and swollen

The skin is red, swollen and weeping in places. This is expected. You will not want to be seen. Plan the week off.

Day 4 to 7

Peeling

The treated skin flakes away. Do not pick. New skin underneath is pink and very sensitive to sun.

Week 2 to 4

Pink fading

Redness settles gradually. Makeup is usually fine from around day ten. Strict sun protection is non negotiable.

Week 6 to 12

Collagen builds

The real result. Texture and scarring continue improving for up to six months after a single treatment.

When we say no

When we decline
co2 laser resurfacing.

We do not treat in these situations, and we will say so in the consultation, which you are not charged for.

  • Anyone who cannot take the downtime. This is not negotiable and we would rather you did something else.
  • Skin types at high risk of post inflammatory pigment change, unless properly prepared and fully informed.
  • Recent isotretinoin use, until enough time has passed.
  • Active acne or infection, including cold sores, which we prevent with medication first.
  • Anyone unable to commit to strict sun avoidance afterwards. Sun on healing skin undoes the result and causes pigment problems.
  • Unrealistic expectations about scarring. We improve it substantially. We do not erase it.

Questions

CO2 Laser Resurfacing
questions, answered.

The Skin&Co consultation room in Mississauga
How much downtime does CO2 laser really need?

Five to ten days before you are presentable, and several weeks of fading pinkness. Anyone telling you it is a weekend treatment is describing a much weaker setting.

Does it hurt?

Topical numbing makes the treatment tolerable. The hours afterwards feel like significant sunburn and we provide what you need for that.

How many treatments will I need?

One to three depending on the concern. Deep acne scarring often needs a series. Sun damage frequently responds to one.

Is it safe for darker skin?

It can be, with correct preparation and settings, but the risk of pigment change is genuinely higher. We assess this honestly rather than optimistically.

When will I see results?

Improvement in texture within weeks, and collagen remodelling continuing for up to six months. It is a slow, substantial change.

What if I cannot take a week off?

Then this is not your treatment right now. Microneedling or a course of peels gives smaller change with far less disruption, and we would rather do that well.
