Different lasers target different things: pigment, blood vessels, water in the skin, or the pigment inside a hair follicle. Choosing the wrong wavelength for a skin type is how burns and post inflammatory pigmentation happen, which is the reason this is done inside a dermatology practice rather than sold as a package.
You are a good candidate if the concern is sun damage, pigmentation, redness, visible vessels, scarring, texture, or unwanted hair. Deeper skin types are treatable, but the device and the settings change, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing.
