Acne scar treatment, Mississauga

Acne scar treatment, planned by a dermatologist

Acne scars respond to a plan, not a single session. A dermatologist assesses your scar types and your skin, then recommends resurfacing, microneedling, peels or a combination.

  • Examined by a dermatologist before any treatment is recommended
  • A written plan, with straight answers on what will and will not help
  • Options for every skin type, including skin where laser carries more risk

What it treats

What we can help with.

The most powerful resurfacing we offer, and the one with real downtime. Genuine change to texture, scarring and deep lines, in exchange for a week of your life.

Rolling and boxcar scars

Broad, shallow depressions that change how light falls on the skin. Often the best candidates for resurfacing.

Ice pick scars

Narrow and deep. They usually need a targeted approach rather than resurfacing alone.

Post acne marks

Flat red or brown marks left after a breakout. Not true scars, and treated differently.

Texture and enlarged pores

The roughness that often comes with scarring, improved over a course of treatment.

Scars on darker skin

Needs a plan that respects pigment risk. Microneedling is often the safer starting point.

Active acne alongside scars

Active breakouts are calmed first. Treating scars over active acne wastes time and money.

How it works

Assessed first, then treated.

Nothing is treated until it has been examined by a physician led team, and nothing is repeated until it has been reviewed.

  1. Consultation and skin typing

A physician assesses your skin type, scarring pattern and pigment risk. This treatment is not offered to every skin type at every setting, and we explain why.

  2. Preparation

Some skin needs preparing for several weeks beforehand to reduce pigment risk. We will not shortcut this, and it can mean waiting.

  3. Treatment

Forty five to ninety minutes with topical numbing. The skin is treated in a fractional pattern. You go home with a specific aftercare protocol, not a leaflet.

  4. Recovery and review

We check in during the first week and review at six weeks, when new collagen has begun forming.

When we say no

We would rather lose the appointment than the trust.

A consultation sometimes ends with less treatment than you expected, or none. These are the situations where we will tell you so.

Questions

Before you book.

How much downtime does CO2 laser really need?

Five to ten days before you are presentable, and several weeks of fading pinkness. Anyone telling you it is a weekend treatment is describing a much weaker setting.

Does it hurt?

Topical numbing makes the treatment tolerable. The hours afterwards feel like significant sunburn and we provide what you need for that.

How many treatments will I need?

One to three depending on the concern. Deep acne scarring often needs a series. Sun damage frequently responds to one.

Is it safe for darker skin?

It can be, with correct preparation and settings, but the risk of pigment change is genuinely higher. We assess this honestly rather than optimistically.

When will I see results?

Improvement in texture within weeks, and collagen remodelling continuing for up to six months. It is a slow, substantial change.

What if I cannot take a week off?

Then this is not your treatment right now. Microneedling or a course of peels gives smaller change with far less disruption, and we would rather do that well.
